For your business to grow, you must be growing!

If you want MORE out of life....

Maximize your time Organize your space Reduce your stress Energize your mind

Your Business Life and Your Personal Life Must Be In Balance

--------------

Is your business working for you or are you working for your business?

In his book, The E-myth, Michael Gerber explains that the e-myth is a plumber leaving an employer to go to work for himself and calling himself a entrepreneur when really he has just changed employers.  In fact, he is worse off than an employee.  He is a slave to his business.

Your business should be a reflection of you.  Not the other way around.  If you are stressed out, it is because your business is stressed.  If you are in control, your business will be in control.  If your vision gets fuzzy, both you and your business will reflect that limitation.

So if your business needs to change – as it must continually change to thrive – you must change first.  If you are unwilling to change, your business will never be capable of giving you what you want.

The first change that needs to take place has to do with your idea of what a business really is and what it takes to make it work.  Once you fully understand the relationship every owner must have with his business, I can assure you that your business and your life will take on new vitality and new meaning.

What would your business look like if you were the master
and your business was working for you?

Some experts call the early stages of a business’s life the technician stage.  There is a high level of idealism.  You are having the time of your life.  You have your hands on every detail and enjoy every minute of it.  Working all day and then staying up half the night is what it takes to achieve the American dream.  Right….. Right?

Why can’t I just go back to being a technician.  I love the work I do and I’m good at it.  If I didn’t have to do all these other things, I would still love it.

But, isn’t that the myth?  There’s nothing wrong with being a plumber or a draftsman.  But, there is something terribly wrong with being a plumber who also owns a business.  If you are not careful, your focus will be upside down.  In a business, the focus must be crystal clear or things can get way out of whack.

You can see what has to be done and because of the way you are built, you jump immediately into doing it yourself.

If you want to work in the business, get a job in somebody else’s business!  But, don’t work in your own.  While you are busy doing all the work, there are some important things that are not being done.  Those are the entrepreneurial things that lead your business forward.  They are the things that will give you the life you haven’t known in a while.
